New development at exit 42 in Troutman / Lake Norman, North Carolina!  The continued rapid development of the Troutman/Lake Norman area is moving up to the north end of the lake to Exit 42 (Interstate 77). A new Lowes Home Improvement store was built just off of the exit 42 and opened in October of 2007, along with a Wendy's Restaurant which opened in 2008. During the next year additional construction will take place to continue development of this rapidly growing area with the construction of a McDonald's Restaurant which is scheduled to open sometime in 2009. Future development will consist of a new Walmart, a Country Inns and Suites Hotel, and several restaurants. West of Interstate 77 at exit 42, plans for a new 70 acre Troutman Town Center and a 39 acre retail park called Troutman Commons are in the works.
